About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineering Designer to join our team at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for performing structural engineering design and preparing design and construction documents, integrating your work with that of others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop structural engineering solutions for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project leaders and senior engineers to achieve project goals, including budget, deliverables, and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements, applying new knowledge and skills to improve design and engineering practices.
  • Contribute to the development of junior engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their careers.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in design development, structural analysis, documentation, and detailing on a variety of projects.
  • Professional licensure process close to completion; LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop creative solutions.
