About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care within our Progressive Care Unit. You will work closely with our dedicated nursing team to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collect and record essential patient data, including vital signs, weight, intake and output, and blood glucose levels. You will also assist with routine urinary catheter care and collect specimens as needed.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients by assisting with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility. Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests for assistance.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date. You will also manage unit files, forms, and reference documents.
  • Contribute to efficient communication within the unit by answering telephones, contacting healthcare professionals, and tracking call light response times.
  • Support the nursing team with various tasks, including running errands, picking up supplies, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
