Patient Care Technician Unit Coordinator

The Patient Care Technician - Health Unit Coordinator plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services in our Progressive Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing various clerical and patient care duties under the direct supervision of our licensed nurses.
Key Responsibilities- Collects and records patient data, reporting information and observations to the nursing team in a timely manner.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and maintaining continence.
- Completes and maintains unit and patient records, files, and documents related to work area management and patient care.
- Prepares reports, purchase orders, and other documents using computer programs.
- Provides excellent customer service, greeting visitors and assisting them as needed.
- Answers telephones and contacts professional and non-professional nursing staff using pagers, beepers, and cell phones.
- Performs work area help duties as directed by the nurse or physician, including running errands and transporting patients.
- Maintains inventory, requisitions, and stocks work area supplies and equipment.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about patient information.
- Ability to relate professionally and positively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels.
