Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute educational programs by creating classroom activities aligned with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning benchmarks.
- Exemplify leadership; inspire the teaching team towards success through modeling and mentorship.
- Develop individualized and group activities that actively engage children, promoting their social, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
- Uphold a healthy classroom environment by maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records, forms, and files.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure ongoing quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.
- High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a team-oriented environment.
- A solid understanding of child development principles.
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, manipulate objects, communicate effectively, and possess specific vision capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a group childcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of child development and contemporary educational methodologies.
- Creative and methodical approach to teaching.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine affection for children.
- Strong communication and time management abilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Completion of introductory courses in Childcare, Infant and Toddler care, and relevant educational strategies (assistance in obtaining these may be provided).
- Preferred qualifications include Level 7 on the Registry or a degree in Early Childhood Education.
