Role Summary:
The Restorative Care Nursing Assistant provides essential support to residents in long-term care settings. This role involves implementing mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises as part of therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities include utilizing adaptive equipment, fall prevention strategies, and proper techniques for turning and positioning residents. The assistant will also document residents' progress and promptly report any changes in their condition.
Key duties encompass assisting with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and meal support. The role requires demonstrating the correct application of therapeutic modalities in accordance with regulatory standards.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment is crucial, including proper handling of linens and adherence to infection control protocols. The assistant will provide resident-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring that all care delivered aligns with the individual care plans.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Completion of a CNA training program with a focus on restorative care procedures
- Commitment to ongoing education and competency testing
