Position Overview: The Assistant Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the resident care team within our assisted living and memory care environments. This position requires a minimum of one year of experience in senior care or related health programs, ideally within an assisted living or memory care context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the resident services program, ensuring high-quality care for all residents.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including new hire paperwork and monitoring time sheets.
- May assume caregiver duties or administer medications as needed to maintain consistent care standards.
Resident Care Program:
- Provide training and supervision to Care Assistants, ensuring adherence to resident service plans.
- Develop individualized resident service plans in collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Monitor and manage the health care of residents, maintaining communication with families and healthcare professionals.
- Conduct assessments for residents transitioning to and from hospitals or skilled nursing facilities.
- Perform regular care plan reviews with residents and families, addressing any healthcare-related inquiries.
Medication Management:
- Ensure all prescribed medications are accurately ordered and documented in the electronic medication administration record (EMAR).
- Maintain ongoing communication regarding residents' medication needs with families and healthcare providers.
Memory Care Program (if applicable):
- Gain expertise in dementia and Alzheimer’s care practices.
- Train staff on effective techniques for engaging residents with memory care needs.
- Collaborate with the Program Director to create a welcoming environment for residents and families.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in English for safety and communication purposes.
- Computer literacy is essential, particularly in electronic health record management.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for resident assessments and community outreach.
