We are seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team at Miller Intermediate. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to students, promoting health and wellness, and collaborating with teachers and staff to support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities and health conditions
- Administer medication to students, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with parents and healthcare providers
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and acuity assessments to identify student health concerns and develop recommendations for ARD/IEPs
- Provide first aid, CPR, and AED as needed, and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices
- Collaborate with special education teachers to implement IEPs and provide student-specific training to designated personnel
- Attend ARD/IEP meetings, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing and current certification in CPR/AED
- Minimum two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or related fields, with a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse preferred
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, teachers, and staff. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, and lifting, as well as exposure to biological hazards and communicable diseases.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $62,995/BA, $63,495/MA, $63,995/PHD, based on previous experience. The position is a 190-day contract, and the salary schedule is pending school board approval.
