Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient histories and perform physical examinations to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Initiate, document, and communicate patient care plans, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Perform daily patient rounds to monitor patient progress and address any concerns.
- Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document patient information, including discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals.
- Provide patients with post-discharge care instructions and ensure a smooth transition to home care.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current BLS certification.
The salary range for this position is $80-$135/hour. Northwell Health is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
