Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and efficacy.
  • Manage artificial airways, including set-up, safety checks, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators and non-invasive devices.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results, working closely with physicians to develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote effective working relations and patient safety.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification or equivalent.
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as an RRT in Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 6 months.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
