We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda and a commitment to teaching excellence.
About the PositionThis faculty position will focus on the social, political, and economic impacts of emerging communication and media technologies. The successful candidate may approach these issues from a variety of methodological perspectives, including qualitative and quantitative methods. A global perspective is also appreciated, and candidates with expertise in Latin American media systems, audiences, and policies are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in emerging communication and media technologies
- Conduct research and publish in top-tier journals and books
- Advise and mentor graduate students
- Participate in departmental and university service
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and a strong research agenda. A commitment to teaching excellence and a willingness to advise and mentor graduate students are also essential. The ability to actively pursue and secure external funding is valued.
