Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist is a vital member of our diagnostic imaging team, responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans and providing exceptional patient care. As a skilled professional, you will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review patient charts and requisitions to determine the appropriate diagnostic images and procedures.
  • Position patients on the scanning table and adjust equipment to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Operate MRI equipment and accessories, including laser disc drives and magnetic units.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures, recognizing changes that may require further action.
  • Ensure the MRI environment is secure and restricted to screened patients and personnel only.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist with training and education of radiology students and less advanced health center radiology personnel.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program.
  • Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT, or MRI Registry-eligible with certification within one year of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One year MRI experience preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and adapt to schedule changes.
