We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Medical Professional to join our Surgical I team at Novant Health in Wilmington, NC.

About the Role:

  • Provide specialized care and closely monitor patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans and manage their treatment options.
  • Educate patients and families on care and treatment options, ensuring they understand their condition and plan of care.
  • Accurately document patient information and care interventions in medical records.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing evidence-based interventions.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including progress notes, medication lists, and test results.
  5. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A valid North Carolina nursing license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • At least one year of acute nursing experience, preferably in a med-surg or critical care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
