Position Overview:

The Cloud Systems Support Engineer plays a crucial role in the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of extensive cloud infrastructures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively within a mission-oriented team, adhering to standard operating procedures, and communicate clearly while being open to constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new technologies and utilize senior-level expertise to enhance the existing technical framework.
  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in scripting with languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.
  • Have at least three (3) years of hands-on experience with core Linux operating system components, including user and group account management in LDAP, as well as DHCP, DNS, and TFTP configuration.
  • Exhibit familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Puppet and SALT.

Educational Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is highly preferred and may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Relevant certifications in Hadoop or Cloud System Administration are desirable.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing environments, with knowledge of distributed systems like Hadoop, Cassandra, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to work independently on complex assignments and mentor junior technical staff.
  • Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills for overseeing intricate technical tasks involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Advanced understanding of SSH tunneling and protocols, including dynamic SOCKS proxies and other SSH-based utilities.
  • Familiarity with the Linux PXE/Network provisioning process, including Anaconda Kickstart configurations and RAID controller utilities.
  • Proficient in remote system diagnostics and repair using tools like VNC and IPMI.
  • Knowledge of corporate architecture, openSSL, and Java keystore management.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs and switch interactions.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting, particularly with SGI/HP platforms.
  • Familiarity with software load balancers and orchestration services like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with log aggregation tools such as ElasticSearch and Grafana.
