This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance functions, procedures, and activities associated with working on gas compression packages under direct supervision. The purpose of this role is to acquire proficiency in performing all maintenance actions with direct supervision that will allow for progression to more senior levels.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times while providing exceptional customer service that aligns with Enerflex's values and mission.
- Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist in diagnosing engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently, and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
- Assist in the timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the field, even in adverse conditions.
- Assist with response to recurring problems and emergency services as needed, and provide input to supervisors on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning.
- Assist with the installation of new units, including commissioning and start-up inspections, and provide input on the development of technical documentation.
- Assist with mechanical inspections using specialized tools and equipment, and provide recommendations for maintenance and repair.
- All duties and responsibilities may require a significant amount of travel, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may involve working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisors, colleagues, and customers, and provide input on the development of technical documentation.
- Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some minimal vocational/technical training preferred.
- Must have 3-5 years of applicable experience in a related field.
- Must have proof of certification from a recognized organization, such as CAT or Waukesha, to perform complex maintenance tasks.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and post-offer physical testing.
- Valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Possess strong mechanical and electrical abilities, with knowledge and experience to perform complex multiple service and maintenance tasks.
- Have a thorough understanding of gas compression and production equipment, including installation, assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
- Ability to decipher P&IDs, blueprints, installation instructions, and technical manuals.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally, using proper lifting techniques. The employee must also be able to stand, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as needed.
The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, adverse outside weather conditions, and high, precarious places, and may be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
