Quality Assurance Specialist

At MAHLE, Inc, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Prepare and evaluate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for customers and suppliers.
  • Assist the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) team with quality issues on new product launches, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Manage project timing plans with Gantt charts.
  • Ensure the Lot Traceability program is effective and the program requirements are complied with.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers, including corrective action reports.
  • Participate in defect/scrap reduction activities.
  • Assist in the purchase of Quality Assurance supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain current product drawing files, standards, and related documents.
  • Establish gage calibration procedures and ensure that gages are calibrated, identified, and gage records are updated and placed on file.
  • Maintain records of and control the disposition of "Hold For Inspection" (discrepant) items.
  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process and test products for various qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
  • Monitor the SPC program on a continuing basis for adherence to its underlying principles and concepts.
  • Perform process and machine capability studies as needed.
  • Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into a computer for analysis.
  • Maintain quality records in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain the use and care of safety equipment and procedures in the quality control laboratory.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university or two years of college in an engineering/technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in an injection molding shop with emphasis on process problem-solving.
