Quality Assurance Specialist
At MAHLE, Inc, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Prepare and evaluate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for customers and suppliers.
- Assist the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) team with quality issues on new product launches, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Manage project timing plans with Gantt charts.
- Ensure the Lot Traceability program is effective and the program requirements are complied with.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers, including corrective action reports.
- Participate in defect/scrap reduction activities.
- Assist in the purchase of Quality Assurance supplies and equipment.
- Maintain current product drawing files, standards, and related documents.
- Establish gage calibration procedures and ensure that gages are calibrated, identified, and gage records are updated and placed on file.
- Maintain records of and control the disposition of "Hold For Inspection" (discrepant) items.
- Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
- Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process and test products for various qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Monitor the SPC program on a continuing basis for adherence to its underlying principles and concepts.
- Perform process and machine capability studies as needed.
- Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
- Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into a computer for analysis.
- Maintain quality records in an orderly manner.
- Maintain the use and care of safety equipment and procedures in the quality control laboratory.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university or two years of college in an engineering/technical field.
- 3 years of experience in an injection molding shop with emphasis on process problem-solving.
