We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Pharmacist to join our team at Ansible Government Solutions, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders, assessing drug orders, and cross-matching medications with medication presented at checking stations. You will also be responsible for pre-verifying medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical apparatus to dispense medications into prescription bottles, completing verification and fill of controlled substance orders, and performing Quality Assurance functions and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians.
Responsibilities:- Verify prescription orders for legend, OTC, Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), and Controlled Substances to patients requiring care.
- Assess drug orders and cross-match with medication presented at checking stations.
- Pre-verify medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical apparatus to dispense medications into prescription bottles.
- Complete verification and fill of controlled substance orders, including Schedules III, IV, and V.
- Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians.
- Follow CMOP policies regarding documentation and reports to meet VA and TJC policy.
- Report any unusual doses, wrong drug, wrong strength, or drug mix-up, and report the information in accordance with local CMOP policies.
- Provide full checking, labeling, and quality assurance within the guidance of the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding pharmaceutical medications.
- Compound and dispense medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines for controlled substances.
- Licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
- Must be licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and staff.
- Maintains basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office.
- Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
- Able to pass VetPro certification, which is a credentialing system that is required of all VHA licensed, registered, and certified health care providers.
- Able to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours), and lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively.
