The 1st Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in managing the overall operations of designated Pump & Pantry locations during the Manager's absence. This position involves executing various responsibilities either directly or through subordinate supervisors.
Starting Wage - $16.00 Per Hour

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment, discipline, and termination of staff in collaboration with the Manager and Corporate Human Resource Department.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted punctually.
- Demonstrate proficiency in opening and closing shifts, including all necessary paperwork.
- Address customer needs effectively and uphold the company's customer service policies.
- Oversee cash management and bank deposits.
- Ensure compliance with food handling guidelines and state/federal regulations in all food operations.
- Maintain a positive work environment.
- Resolve issues related to customers, staff, or equipment.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization standards for assigned locations.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure proper pricing.
- Implement and follow up on company training procedures.
- Supervise and train all personnel adequately.
- Ensure all food products are stored and dated correctly, maintaining proper temperatures.
- Ensure all shifts are adequately staffed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure staff adherence to uniform standards.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
- Report maintenance, customer, and personnel issues to upper management regularly.
- Maintain necessary records related to merchandise, personnel, and fuel.
- Foster a safe and healthy work environment.
- Attend management and training meetings as required.
- Provide friendly and competent customer service.
- Exhibit punctuality and consistent attendance.
Additional Duties
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises 4 to 16 employees at each assigned Pump & Pantry location.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Preferred one to three years of experience as a Solo-location Assistant Manager, with a minimum of six months as a sales associate.
- An Associate Degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a Food Handler's permit or Serve Safe Certification where required by law or policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of operations and maintenance of all equipment in the assigned locations.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work a minimum of three 2nd shifts per week to ensure managerial coverage during key operating hours.
- Reliable transportation and communication device are required.
- Proficiency in English communication is necessary.
- Willingness to provide friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
