Role Summary

The Nutrition and Food Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the performance quality of team members. This role includes assisting with recruitment, training, counseling, and performance evaluations in accordance with healthcare standards. The supervisor ensures proper staffing and scheduling while adhering to regulatory requirements.

This position also involves managing food supply orders to ensure that the facility can produce planned menus. The supervisor will develop, test, and implement standardized recipes while providing guidance on food presentation, taste, and sanitation.

Key responsibilities include conducting team meetings, providing follow-up as necessary, and demonstrating effective leadership and management skills. Strong communication abilities are essential for interacting with staff, families, and other stakeholders. The supervisor will delegate tasks effectively, manage conflicts, and adapt to changing work demands while maintaining composure.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the food service or food production industry is required.
  • CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification preferred, or a registered dietitian. Some departments may require CDM certification within two years of hire.
  • Depending on certifications, passing the Serve Safe certification may be required within a year of hire.
