Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Specialist Position
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine repairs and upkeep of building and grounds machinery.
- Assist in diagnosing and fixing electrical systems, plumbing installations, HVAC units, elevators, boilers, chillers, structural elements, and various specialized equipment.
- Perform basic preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Operate light vehicles and utilize both power and hand tools effectively.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries or issues, ensuring minimal disruption during work.
- Support customer and departmental special projects as needed.
- Availability for flexible hours and weekend work may be required.
Job Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Familiarity with materials and tools relevant to carpentry, painting, electrical work, plumbing, masonry, and mechanical trades.
- Ability to operate light trucks safely.
- Capable of reading and writing in English at a level necessary for job performance.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Commit to performing work safely.
- Accurately follow guidelines and instructions.
- Work independently and keep simple records and reports.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to an 8-hour shift.
- Climb and work from ladders or elevated platforms.
- Ascend or descend a minimum of six flights of stairs within a specified timeframe.
- Capable of using both hands effectively.
- Able to lift and transport 70 pounds or more.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or construction-related fields.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to undergo drug screening and a criminal background check.
