About the Role

The Senior Nutrition Program Manager is a critical member of our team responsible for overseeing the administration and management of all nutrition services at Greater Lawrence Community Action Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective nutrition programs to ensure compliance with federal regulations and state policies.
  • Create local program procedures based on state WIC policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Serve as a mentor and supervisor for nutritionists and nutrition assistants, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to define staff responsibilities, work schedules, and participant service hours.
  • Ensure that nutrition staff obtain required CEU credits annually and conduct annual reviews to assess their performance.
  • Establish schedules for follow-up nutrition education sessions and plan delivery of nutrition education programs.
  • Oversee the planning, provision, and evaluation of nutrition education associated with Farmers' Market initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with local healthcare providers and community agencies to promote collaborative efforts and referrals.
  • Work closely with the Breastfeeding Coordinator to develop and evaluate breastfeeding promotion and support activities.
  • Regularly visit and communicate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, or a related field, or a Registered Dietitian with relevant experience.
  • At least one year of post-graduate community nutrition experience, preferably in program planning and administration.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, excellent communication skills, and sensitivity to the needs of the target population.
  • Licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists preferred, and registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics desired.

Benefits and Work Environment:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $63,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The position operates with a hybrid model, allowing for 2 remote days and 3 days in-office per week. Our office environment is professional and equipped with standard office equipment. The ideal candidate will have a valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license or equivalent from another state.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular sitting, walking, and standing, as well as frequent use of hands to handle office equipment. Occasional kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Lifting up to 10 pounds is frequent, while lifting up to 25 pounds is occasional.
