The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our preconstruction team, you will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for plumbing systems on various construction projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our clients receive the best possible value for their investments.
Key Responsibilities- Attend pre-bid meetings to gather project information and analyze site conditions.
- Review and interpret project documents to determine material, equipment, and labor requirements.
- Assist in preparing scopes of work for subcontracts and suppliers, and coordinate with other trades.
- Participate in pre-proposal design coordination meetings to support pricing document development.
- Perform quantity surveys and apply industry-standard labor rates to support accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals, and identify low-cost/best-value responses.
- Assist in preparing estimates for bidding and budgeting purposes, and participate in internal estimate reviews.
- Support project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience and education.
- 5+ years of experience in construction, with 3+ years of experience estimating plumbing systems.
- Strong technical writing, math, and computer skills, with proficiency in software applications such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using estimating software, preferably Trimble products.
