Position Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Services Med-Surg Registered Nurse, you will work in a high-acuity unit that caters to diverse surgical patients, including those undergoing general surgery, gastrointestinal procedures, and vascular surgeries.

This role will help you develop a broad knowledge base, enabling you to excel in post-operative care and refine your nursing skills.

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify nursing needs based on individual patient requirements.
  • Plan and implement personalized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate care to align with the hospital's mission and vision.
  • When in a charge nurse capacity, oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care.
  • Make staff assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies.
  • Act as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Current RN licensure (or eligibility).
  • Preferred: 1 year of clinical experience.
  • CPR certification.
