Position Summary:
In collaboration with the Project Manager, the Project Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Responsibilities include developing project timelines, budgets, and progress assessments, as well as liaising with stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the role and may include additional tasks as necessary:
  • Generate project management documentation, including schedules, procurement plans, and cost management tools.
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections to evaluate compliance with specifications, safety standards, and project milestones.
  • Prepare and maintain operations and maintenance manuals as required.
  • Take initiative to perform additional tasks that align with organizational goals.
  • Compile and manage comprehensive submittal logs based on project documentation.
  • Notify the Project Manager of any potential schedule impacts related to submittals.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for change requests as needed.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all project close-out documentation.
  • Distribute contract documents to subcontractors, ensuring all relevant information is included.
  • Document meeting minutes accurately and distribute them promptly.
  • Organize and attend all necessary construction meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders and ensure timely payments are processed.
  • Solicit proposals from subcontractors and suppliers prior to submission deadlines.
  • Review contracts with the Project Manager and prepare them for executive approval.
  • Submit requests for necessary bonds and insurance certificates.
  • Manage the building permit application process and follow up on approvals.
  • During the construction phase, proactively oversee project quality, schedule adherence, budget management, and safety compliance.

Tools and Technologies:
Utilize project management software and documentation tools to monitor and record project performance.
  • Update subcontractors and suppliers regarding any changes to project plans or schedules.
  • Report on productivity, costs, quality control, and any issues impacting project success.
  • Develop and maintain operations and maintenance manuals as required.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in general construction or project engineering.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to lead and mentor team members.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

Planning and Organizational Skills:
Ability to develop plans to address challenges and seize opportunities.
