Scientist - R&D Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our R&D team in Worthington, Minnesota.

The Scientist will be responsible for providing technical support in the development of vaccines, including antigen discovery, formulation, process development, assay development, and efficacy studies.

• Conduct assigned projects, experiments, or departmental activities to meet project goals and timelines.
• Perform bacterial growth and characterization, as well as conduct essential assays such as ELISA, TCID50, IFA, and western blotting.
• Independently lead assigned projects, set project goals, and develop timelines.
• Perform basic molecular biology and microbiology experiments.
• Communicate data/results in the form of written or oral reports.
• Assist in the analysis of data/results and provide suggestions for next steps.
• Collect, maintain, and organize data in the form of a laboratory notebook, bench record, animal record, electronic project database, and/or production record.
• Maintain laboratory equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

• Familiarity with the principles of veterinary biologics, research and development of biologics, diagnostic assays, vaccine production, quality control, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to follow department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
• Math skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• BS Degree in Microbiology or related field with 1-2 years' experience working in a laboratory.
