Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Frankfort, IL. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech and language disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing direct therapy services to students.
  • Implement treatment plans and activities designed by the SLP to address communication disorders.
  • Support students with articulation, language, fluency, and social communication needs.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to create a positive learning environment.
  • Help prepare materials and activities for therapy sessions.
  • Follow all ethical guidelines and maintain student confidentiality.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Illinois SLPA license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience working with children in a school or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work closely with a licensed SLP.
