Shoulak Music is seeking a dedicated Percussion Educator to join our team as a part-time instructor providing engaging music and performance lessons to students of all ages.

At Shoulak Music, our educators utilize a comprehensive curriculum to deliver an inspiring and well-rounded music education. By incorporating theory and technique through familiar music, our instructors cultivate musicians who take pleasure in performing, recording, and even composing their own pieces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct private and semi-private lessons utilizing our established curriculum and popular song arrangements.
  • Foster a supportive, enjoyable, and focused learning environment.
  • Evaluate students' readiness to participate in bands or ensembles.
  • Support school events, both on-site and off-site.
  • Perform equipment maintenance as needed and within capability.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a solid understanding of music concepts and effectively communicate these to students.
  • Advanced knowledge of music theory and techniques relevant to percussion.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to keep students engaged during lessons.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic environment with diverse personalities.
  • Proven performance experience, whether solo or in groups.
  • Experience working with youth and/or beginner musicians.
  • Ability to interact positively with both children and adults.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
Additional Information:
  • Compensation starts at $18 per hour.
  • Availability for at least three days a week is required.
  • Teaching at another music facility within a specified distance is not permitted.

Our compensation is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability.
