Job Summary:

The Tax Accountant will be responsible for providing tax reporting and planning services for c corporations, s corporations, and partnerships. This role will involve leading a team of tax accountants and collaborating with the Tax Manager to deliver high-quality reporting and ensure clients meet their tax deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments
  • Research and prepare work papers for book-to-tax differences
  • Perform year-end accrual review and prepare the tax provision
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, estate, trust, and individual federal and state income tax returns
  • Prepare various personal property tax returns
  • Prepare and review other tax filings, including annual reports, intangible tax, and sales and use tax
  • Handle federal and state tax notices
  • Research projects
  • Stay up-to-date with current tax developments
  • Assist in financial planning and analysis
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
