Key Responsibilities:


The Level 1 Electrical Engineer will engage in the following tasks:

  • Assist in the design, development, and validation of electrical components and systems for retrofit aircraft applications.
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic electrical principles, including Ohm's law and Watt's law.
  • Develop peer review packages for engineering drawings.
  • Ensure design compliance with company quality procedures, customer specifications, and relevant certification standards.
  • Collaborate with ODA UM's and EASA CVE's to guarantee adherence to airworthiness regulations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project objectives.

Disciplines of Focus:


The engineer will specialize in one of the following areas:


System Design Engineering:
  • Investigate existing aircraft data through OEM and vendor portals.
  • Modify current aircraft systems to integrate new components.
  • Ensure that existing systems maintain their intended functionality.
  • Create wiring diagrams and system schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Define electrical interface locations for installed interior components.
  • Utilize Boeing or Airbus wiring standards effectively.
  • Assemble wire kits with a comprehensive understanding of materials and specifications.

Installation Engineering:
  • Examine existing aircraft data via OEM and vendor resources.
  • Generate wire routing and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Develop clamping arrangements and identify reusable routing options.
  • Understand wire separation requirements and critical routing areas.
  • Create parts lists and collector drawings.
  • Draft Engineering Orders to guide technicians on installation procedures.

Substantiation Engineering:
  • Prepare essential substantiation documents, including:
  • Aircraft Electrical Load Analysis
  • EMI Ground and Flight Test Plans
  • Transverse Vertical Separation Analysis
  • EWIS Reports
  • Fuel Separation Analysis
  • Functional Test Plans
  • System Safety Assessments
  • Fault Hazard Assessments

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant technical experience in aerospace drafting or design is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Skills:
  • Drawing management and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with consistent use of computer equipment. Proficient communication in English is required. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.


Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
