The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, negotiating with carriers, and supervising a team of warehouse personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate tariff rates with common carriers for all branches
- Audit all freight bills for accuracy and best routing
- Purchase supplies for building maintenance, warehouse, and shipping
- Negotiate and coordinate contracts for building and ground maintenance
- Coordinate with sales and service pickups and deliveries of products by the warehouse driver
- Manage warehouse personnel, including hiring, firing, training, communication, performance evaluations, and compensation
- Manage shipping and export personnel and coordinate priorities of orders with sales, service, export, and government sales departments
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance of company van, 4x4 pickup, pickup, and flatbed truck
- Manage inventory storage and security
- Manage the building of crates for outbound shipping
- Extensive knowledge of motor freight systems, vendors, and warehousing
- General knowledge of inventory management systems and PC's
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Planning and Organization skills for both self and others
- Leadership skills, both one-to-one and team situations
- Extensive knowledge of company products, customers, and vendors
- Safety knowledge and awareness of impacting employee health
- Mechanical aptitude and carpentry knowledge at a basic level
- Integrity, Judgement, Decisiveness, and Problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma
- 10 years of warehousing traffic control and building maintenance experience
- 5 years of PC experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience
Office and warehouse work environment
Occasionally irregular work hours
Supervise 6 employees - lead warehouse persons, warehouse persons, shipping clerks, and government packers
