Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Financial Planning and Analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and the preparation of pro-forma financial documents.
  • Provide technical guidance on US GAAP and SEC requirements, including accounting research, documentation, and client presentations.
  • Prepare precise external financial reports for clients, auditors, or the SEC, including the preparation, review, submission, and distribution of periodic financial statements such as 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy statements.
  • Assist in designing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and enhance the financial accounting close process, including expediting and streamlining monthly and quarterly reporting procedures.
  • Act as a liaison for clients with external auditors and internal decision-makers to facilitate audit preparation.
  • Support Cash to Accrual Accounting following transactions, prepare Opening Balance Sheets, and manage Purchase Accounting.
  • Lead and oversee projects while coordinating directly with clients.
  • Develop proactive working relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide timely and effective performance feedback and training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a public accounting firm, consulting firm, or operational accounting role.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A strong and current understanding of US GAAP (exposure to IFRS is advantageous), with in-depth technical knowledge of topics such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, purchase accounting, etc., and experience within the technical accounting or SEC reporting team of a company.
