We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Self-Driving Hardware team at Tesla. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the complex high-speed boards that deliver the autonomous driving capability of our vehicles.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical architecture, electronic circuits, and processor selection and integration for high-speed boards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PCB layout, firmware, reliability, program management, mechanical, and EMC teams.
- Develop and document design requirements, calculations, power budgets, and validation plans.
- Design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for EMC.
- Component selection, simulation, tolerance, variance, power dissipation, and other related tasks.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of relevant circuit board design experience.
- Demonstrated depth in end-to-end PCBA design.
- Strong knowledge of high-speed board design (>5Gbps) and interfaces (DDR, PCIe, MIPI, etc).
- Experience in high-performance processor, memory, storage, and IO-based complex motherboard design.
- Good understanding of analog and power circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, etc).
- Proficiency with EE tools (oscilloscopes, BERT, network analyzers, signal generators, etc).
- Experience shipping high-volume electronics products.
- Design for mission-critical systems (fail-safe, redundancy).
- Basic programming and scripting ability.
