Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate high-quality ultrasound images and obtain necessary measurements for each examination.
  • Identify the sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissue structures to ensure optimal image quality for documentation.
  • Accurately document all relevant patient and procedural information.
  • Gather and assess pertinent patient history and physical findings that may influence the sonographic examination.
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients to enhance comfort and cooperation.
  • Monitor patients throughout all phases of the procedure, prioritizing their emotional and physical well-being.
  • Communicate patient information professionally and courteously to patients and referring physician offices as needed.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment in a clean and safe condition, ensuring proper maintenance.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment, ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Coordinate and schedule tests efficiently.
  • Prepare and uphold operational logs.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance/Improvement audits and activities as required.
Qualifications:
  • ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry, with the ARDMS including successful completion of one registry relevant to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Previous ultrasound experience is preferred.
