As an AI Research Engineer, you will leverage your knowledge in various domains of artificial intelligence, including:

You will work alongside professionals in AI, computer science, robotics, social sciences, and business to create AI and data analytics solutions for innovative vehicle prototypes.
Your initial challenge will be to design the AI software for a functional vehicle media platform prototype, focusing on user-activity and/or emotion modeling to enhance user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement prototype solutions that embed AI capabilities into future generations of the vehicle, cloud, and connected device ecosystem.
- Develop principled models and methodologies.
- Effectively communicate progress through presentations and reports, showcasing potential for business transformation.
- Contribute to patent applications and research publications.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in AI development and deployment.
- Strong foundation in software engineering and data management best practices.
- Genuine passion for research and development at the forefront of technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience in architecting AI solutions for user-activity recognition and/or mood and emotion modeling.
- Documented contributions to open-source software with high-quality coding standards.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
Additional Information:
A Master's degree and 2+ years of experience are essential. Prototyping will be a significant aspect of this role, involving algorithms and user experiences. One project focuses on developing a new vehicle experience, utilizing data from the vehicle and sensors monitoring the cabin environment.
Your role will involve applying AI to data and developing algorithms that facilitate decision-making processes. Generative AI is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing client experiences.
Current team members will begin working on the architecture, and mentorship will be provided. A competent individual is required, as software engineering is integral to this role, necessitating hands-on development of AI-related software.
The objective for this position over the coming months is to ensure the candidate can quickly adapt and contribute, particularly with a high-profile demonstration planned. The ideal candidate should have a drive for practical results and be able to showcase that an algorithm operates effectively within the vehicle.
Innovative ideas on data utilization and prototyping will be the primary focus. Proficiency in Python is preferred, although candidates with strong skills in other programming languages may adapt to Python with relative ease. However, candidates with experience solely in C and Matlab may face challenges in acquiring the necessary skills.
