Job Summary

The Accounting Officer will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to requirements. This role will also involve coordination of tax return information, oversight of the audit process, and monitoring of reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remain current with new/emerging accounting pronouncements to ensure proper adherence to requirements
  • Oversight of complete preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for schools and holding company
  • Coordination of tax return information
  • Oversight and coordination of the complete audit process for all entities
  • Monitoring all reporting requirements and adhering to required state and federal deadlines
Requirements
  • CPA designation required
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP including bond and lease accounting
  • Significant knowledge of Louisiana school reporting requirements
  • Experience in accounting for school/corporations
  • Knowledge of and experience with month end closings - both GAAP and governmental bases of accounting
  • Degree in Accounting, CPA designation required
  • Thorough knowledge of grant accounting and tracking processes
  • Experience with audit requirements for large, single program audits
