Medical Physicist

Piedmont HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy treatments.

• Develop and implement treatment plans for external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and stereotactic extracranial radiotherapy.
• Perform routine dose calculations, generate patient data, and design compensating filters and blocking devices.
• Obtain and review dosimetry information, document treatment plans, and advise Radiation Oncologists on dosimetric problems.
• Coordinate and perform computerized treatment plans, review treatment planning, and perform quality assurance and radiation safety measures.
• Participate in inter-departmental radiation studies and trials, and establish good working relationships with physicians and other department members.

• Masters of Science in Medical Physics or related discipline.
• Three years of clinical experience in a radiation therapy department or completion of a CAMPEP-approved residency program.
• Ability to be listed as an authorized medical physicist on a radioactive material license in the State of Georgia.
• Active pursuit of ABR certification in Radiation Therapy Physics.

• Knowledge of current trends in the field of medical physics.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
