Cybersecurity Policy Strategist

Ampsight is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cybersecurity Policy Advisor to join our team. The Senior Cybersecurity Policy Advisor will be responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance on cybersecurity policy within a federal agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies that meet federal requirements and accommodate complex mission objectives.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders and decision makers to gather input and build consensus around cybersecurity policy initiatives.
- Conduct research on complex cybersecurity policy issues, gather data, and assess the effectiveness of current policies.
- Brief senior officials on policy implications and potential impacts to the agency and stakeholders.
- Review and analyze policy documentation, including memos, briefings, and other communications.
- Stay up-to-date with changing laws, regulations, and federal guidance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in cybersecurity policy development or oversight.
- Comprehensive understanding of the NIST special publication catalog.
- Proficiency in interpreting external guidance from authoritative sources like OMB, CISA, etc.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to collaborate as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
