Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Programmer to join our team at SUNY Upstate Medical University. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of web applications through methods of requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, training, support, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with end-users to gather requirements and design web applications
  • Develop and implement web applications using JavaScript and relevant libraries, ColdFusion,.NET, or other modern web development frameworks
  • Design and develop databases in Oracle or SQL Server
  • Provide training and support to end-users
  • Assist with periodic system maintenance and upgrade activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant IT experience or an Associate's degree and 8 years of relevant IT experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate existing application solutions and provide guidance and direction to improve workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant information systems experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with complex programming and systems analysis

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard Monday to Friday schedule, 8am to 5pm.
