Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our middle school youth center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and promoting program activities, ensuring the safety of children participating in the program, and performing related work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and lead program activities, including recreational, educational, and enrichment programs.
  • Monitor participant safety, including attendance taking and frequent head counts.
  • Work with the Youth Advisory Council to develop and improve programming for middle school youth.
  • Act as lead worker to assigned staff and volunteers, including assigning and reviewing work, scheduling, and providing input to performance evaluations.
  • Handle disciplinary problems with children, including implementing and monitoring age-appropriate behavior programs and attending/leading parent meetings.
  • Promote programs, classes, and activities through communication with school staff, participants, and parents.
  • Maintain and submit records, including daily logs, incident reports, and attendance sheets.
  • Respond to questions, concerns, and complaints from participants, school staff, parents, and the general public.
  • Establish and maintain communication with direct supervisor, youth center staff, facility front desk, community agencies, and partners.

Requirements:

  • One year of coursework in Education, Recreation, Family and Human Services, or a related associate's degree.
  • Two years of experience in a youth center setting or in an ongoing group setting, including experience with on-site organizational responsibilities.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain an Oregon Food Handler Permit.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license.
