Position Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to enhance your expertise in the realm of municipal engineering, particularly within the Water Treatment sector, through Actalent.

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer with a focus on the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will become an integral part of the Municipal Water Systems team, collaborating with designers, engineers, and project managers. Your responsibilities will span a diverse range of projects, including drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities, as well as water distribution networks, piping systems, pump stations, and sanitary facilities. Your contributions will involve design, planning, and engineering for both public and private sector initiatives, working independently and within a team framework under the guidance of a lead engineer or project manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering solutions for water and wastewater systems
  • Design, layout, and modeling of municipal water and wastewater infrastructures
  • Assistance with permit acquisition and funding applications
  • Development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Hydraulic modeling for water and sewer systems
  • Support during construction observation and monitoring activities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
  • EIT / FE certification, with progress towards PE License
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the design of municipal water or wastewater treatment systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for civil engineering projects
