Job Title: Controller

Families in Transition is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Coordinate all audit activity and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets, and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA and/or MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in accounting and finance, with experience working with a non-profit organization.
  • Proficient skills conducting audits and general ledger experience required.
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, medical billing, and accounting for investments.
  • Proven track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants.
