Key Responsibilities- Support Underwriting Team: Assist in the preparation of information needed to market new and renewal business, and identify and assess business that may fit into carrier programs.
- Client Interface: Independently interface with clients and carriers to solve problems and answer questions, and develop and maintain proactive communication with clients.
- Quote Analysis: Review and analyze quotes, and negotiate the terms of the transaction.
- Proposal Development: Prepare draft proposals, submissions, and quotes.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor market changes and perform marketing activities as needed by Broker.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain knowledge of insurance coverages, carriers, and their business practices.
- Underwriting Support: Gather underwriting information from retail agents, and assist with invoice management.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to incoming calls.
- Insurance Industry Experience: 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Commercial Underwriting Experience: Commercial underwriting experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills, to include typing, MS Office, and Excel software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, to include presentation skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
- Time Management: Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Licenses: Applicable state P&C license required.
- Excess and Surplus License: Excess and Surplus license a plus.
