Traffic Management Specialist

Role Overview:

The Traffic Management Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic at construction sites. This position involves the placement, removal, and maintenance of both temporary and permanent traffic control devices, as well as the coordination of traffic control personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Install and remove traffic signs, barricades, and cones as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols to safeguard both motorists and construction staff.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
  • Transport construction equipment as required.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Assist with additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in traffic management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations applicable to commercial vehicles is essential.

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • All safety instructions are provided in English; fluency is required.
  • The role involves physical activities such as lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, climbing, and other movements.
  • Work is performed in proximity to heavy machinery, necessitating constant alertness and safety awareness.

Legal Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Valid work authorization documents are required for E-Verify.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Must pass a medical fit-for-duty examination and obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Union membership is required.
