Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Junior Portfolio Manager within our Blackstone Credit & Insurance division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing corporate bond portfolios through a systematic investment methodology. Training will be provided to help interpret model portfolio outputs and prioritize trading activities to ensure compliance with relevant constraints while maximizing opportunities for alpha generation. Collaborating with senior portfolio managers, the candidate will generate orders and allocations, while also gaining an understanding of managing rate, currency, and funding risks across multiple portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizing portfolio management tools to assess risks, prioritize, and allocate trades.
- Collaborating with the trading desk to evaluate market conditions and develop execution strategies.
- Conducting data validations and reviewing model outputs.
- Assisting with cash management, as well as portfolio interest rate and currency hedging.
- Contributing to portfolio analysis and generating client-related content.
- Participating in investment committees and liaising with various teams to analyze market and fundamental trends.
Blackstone is looking for highly motivated and intelligent individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their previous endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate credit markets.
- Prior experience in portfolio management or trading.
- A strong inclination towards a quantitative investment approach, with trade ideas primarily generated through models.
- Collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Exceptional decision-making abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- A solid understanding of risk management and compliance, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, SQL, Python, and Java.
- A genuine enthusiasm for learning about systematic investment management.
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Actual salary will be determined based on various factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additional compensation may be available in the form of benefits and other incentives.
