About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Raleigh General Hospital. As a key member of our Radiology/Imaging Services department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures, including echocardiographic and vascular studies.
  • Review existing clinical data, collect additional data, and recommend obtaining additional pertinent data.
  • Evaluate all data to determine appropriateness and medical necessity of the test ordered.
  • Select, assemble, and check the equipment necessary to perform the diagnostic test.
  • Initiate, conduct, and modify the prescribed diagnostic procedure.
  • Maintain patient records and communicate relevant information to members of the health care team.
  • Continuously develop and improve your skills and knowledge to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Bachelor of Science required.
  • Graduate of a program in the discipline required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days.
  • Licenses: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist by the National Board of Cardiovascular Technology or Registered Cardiac Sonographer by Cardiovascular Credentialing International required.
