About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team at the ASPCA. As a Veterinarian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, preventive, and basic care to animals in need, while also supporting the welfare of their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate and quality care to patients, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and discharge instructions.
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications.
  • Participate in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinics and perform minor outpatient surgical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear and compassionate information about their pets' care.
  • Document exam findings, test results, and treatment recommendations according to ASPCA guidelines.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent).
  • Current New York State veterinary license.
  • Experience in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinics (preferred).
  • Knowledge of low-stress handling techniques and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
