Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

IMI plc is a leading provider of motion and fluid control technologies, and we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for leading the Quality Assurance department in directing, planning, and coordinating our QA program to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards and compliance with regulatory codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to IMI policies and goals.
  • Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Decide whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality assurance engineers.
  • Review all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with IMI policies and procedures.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Keep the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team.
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Play an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Work with line managers to identify and reach quality benchmarks.
  • Track warranty, auditing, and customer feedback to improve process integrity.
  • Ensure that quality measures are implemented on time and in accordance with regulations.
  • Inspect products, processes, and metrics to find opportunities to improve quality.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality issues.
Critical Competencies for Success:
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer savvy in MS applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in QA with ISO and nuclear codes.
  • Ability to direct, coordinate, and oversee company audits.
  • Lead a team and maintain auditory requirements for customer and industry organizations.
  • Must be able to work autonomously to function in assigned areas.
  • Code understanding and ability to translate code into advisable actions at site.
  • ISO 9001 knowledge/understanding/certification.
  • ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Section III.
  • Nuclear 10CFR Part 21 (preferred).
  • Nuclear 10CFR50 Appendix B (preferred).
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (engineering discipline).
  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent is a plus.
  • 4+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range: $115,000 to $135,000 depending on experience.
