Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Special Procedures - Cath Lab to join our team at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for providing patient services using imaging modalities, performing examinations, and assisting in procedures. You will also apply principles of radiation protection, evaluate images for technical quality, and recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides patient services using imaging modalities, performs examinations, and assists in procedures.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection, evaluates images for technical quality, and recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action.
  • Administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, performs angiographic and cardiac catheterization procedures, and administers contrast agents as required by specified procedures under the direction of a qualified physician.
  • Prepares supplies and equips exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
  • Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, staff, and patient, and evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.

Requirements:

  • Accredited School Required: Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to adapt exam to address problems of patient care as they arise, making decisions to appropriately resolve problems.
  • Appropriate knowledge of radiologic principles, physics, anatomy, physiology, positioning, and related medical terminology.
  • PACS/RIS knowledge.
  • ARRT eligible or ARRT-R certified.
  • Registration with Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (recent graduates of an accredited education program that provides eligibility to sit for the ARRT-R exam may be employed for up to 6 months under a temporary Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license).
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire, and ACLS certification required within 6 months.
