Nurse Leader

UCHealth is seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to lead our team at Parkview Medical Center. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area, supervising and mentoring staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor staff during assigned shift, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, float between staff to assist with problem-solving, and take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identify any issues affecting desired patient outcomes, and respond to complaints through established channels.
- Perform role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers, ensuring staff has necessary equipment and supplies for safe, quality patient care.
- Exercise critical thinking skills, make decisive judgments, and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (less than 3 years experience).
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 1 year of nursing experience. Promotion to Charge Nurse III within 3 years of promotion to Charge Nurse.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
