The Department of Developmental Services is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to fill multiple Peace Officer I positions within the Office of Protective Services at Canyon Springs Community Facility.

As a sworn peace officer under the authority of the California Penal Code, Section 830.38, the successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing and maintaining law and order at the facility, ensuring the safety and security of consumers, staff, and the public.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce laws and regulations to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Provide support and assistance to consumers and staff as needed
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to ensure effective service delivery
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Completion of the Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Basic Academy
  • Current California driver's license
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation
