Job Title: Gas Pipeline Structural Engineer

PG&E Corporation is seeking a skilled Gas Pipeline Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Gas Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the design of gas transmission assets across the PG&E system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review technical drawings, reports, and specifications for gas transmission pipelines and facilities.
  • Oversee the engineering designs and retrofits to existing gas transmission pipelines and facilities to enable the pipelines to be inspected using ILI tools.
  • Provide technical support for various PG&E departments, including Engineering, Planning, M&C, Electric Operations, Power Generation, Asset Strategy, System Protection, Law, Standards, and ATS.
  • Perform routine engineering analysis and lead the determination of scope, schedule, budget, and resources needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to work on issues, projects, or activities.
  • Provide code interpretations and design guidance consistent with nationally recognized codes and standards.
  • Prepare Civil/Structural Analysis and Design calculation reports for Pipe Support, Foundations, Pipe-Stress Analyses, etc. using applicable design codes and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Civil or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in engineering, job-related, with a focus on Civil and Structural design.
  • Experience with analysis and design of steel and concrete structures per ACI, AISC, and CBC Standards.
  • Experience with numerical modeling of pipe stress analyses models and structural analysis models.
  • EIT-Engineer-In-Training Certificate, California.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civil or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • PE-Professional Engineer Civil license.
  • Ability to obtain California Professional Engineer License (Civil) within a year.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA CFR 49 subpart 192.
